As a member of a Global Partnership called the Asia Pacific Partnership (APP), which was established as a private/public partnership between developing and developed countries working together with private industries to develop policies that would increase energy efficiency’s in all aspects of our lives and industry’s world-wide. Vista’s appointed to the Renewable Energy and Distributed Generation task force in July 2007, has provided us the opportunity to help influence policies not just within the USA, but the other 6 partner countries of China, India, Korea, Japan Australia and Canada.

Technologies And Products

Some of our products and technologies include, but are not limited to:

Gasification Technology

One of Vista's cutting edge technologies is its gasification technology. With six United States patents, Vista engineers the most innovative and profitable solutions to global waste problems by harnessing the untapped potential of various waste streams for conversion into low-cost, clean electrical and thermal energy. Our “Thermal Gasification” system converts or cooks (using heat only) the waste biomass, tires, waste coal, sludge, plastics and other hydro-carbon based materials into electricity, thermal energy, and other usable by-products, while emitting no harmful pollutants. The limited emissions from the gasification process strictly comply with and exceed both European and American standards.

The gasification of municipal solid waste (“MSW”), industrial waste, medical waste, agricultural waste or any solid carbon-based waste materials results in a thermal decomposition of the refuse derived fuel (”RDF”) into a low energy fuel gas, or SynGas, which fuels a gas Genset and produces limited residual ash . The SynGas is fed directly into a gas Genset for electrical production, used in production of steam or for heat production. The SynGas also can be used as raw material for our high octane liquid fuel production.

High Octane Liquid Fuel

Our high octane liquid fuel (HOLF) is registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a fuel additive per 40 CFR 79.23. The EPA’s Federal registration permits the blending of our HOLF with gasoline or diesel for usage in all 50 States. Regarded as an “ethanol plus”, the HOLF has an octane rating of 110-130+, significantly higher than the octane rating of ethanol currently available to the US market. The HOLF can be blended with gasoline and also used as 85% blend (E85) or straight fuel 100% pure (E100). The HOLF is biodegradable, environmentally friendly and economically viable from the perspective of both producers and consumers. As a blend with gasoline and diesel or used as a straight fuel, the HOLF has the near term potential to become the mainstream fuel of choice for America, Mexico and other neighboring countries.since HOLF uses the current infrastructure we have in place today and requires no special engines or method of transportation.

Vista’s process converts virtually any hydrocarbon based source that contains “free” carbonaceous material into the SynGas mentioned above. This includes "almost everything": farm animal waste, municipal solid waste, tires, biomass (straw, etc.), waste oil of all types, natural gas, coal, coal fines, coal bed methane, flare gas from a refinery or a well, coke bottoms from oil refinery production or sour gas wells that are high in sulfur. None of these waste feed-stocks are economically employed in the fermentation processes used to make ethanol today.

Low Wind Speed Turbine

Vista’s unique turbine technology will deliver economical, efficient and effective wind power to low wind speed areas, which represent 80% of the earths land mass. Distributed electrical generation wind farms, residential, schools, governments, rural areas, irrigation or modular grid expansions are just a few of the uses for this technology. Vista wind turbines can be tailored or “scaled” to fit any number of customers requirements based on different wind speeds and/or power demands, and can be erected in areas where utility grade installations are not possible. Our technology features low cut in speed of 5MPH and can withstand winds to 155+MPH with no cut out due to its unique design.

Energy Saving Lights

Vista’s energy saving lights deliver a true full spectrum lighting experience, approaching the luminosity of full daylight. This type of lighting has been shown to have significant benefits for one’s health, and also to increase student and worker productivity. Our lighting products offer the end user a variety of innovative solutions. Our emergency lighting offers a shatter-proof coating and after-glow technology, which causes the bulb to continue to glow for anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour or more after a loss of power, even if the bulb is removed from its housing unit. Our compact fluorescent lights are a far superior product to what is currently on the global market in terms of quality and efficiency. They offer a true full-spectrum lighting experience, as if one was standing in broad daylight, coupled with the benefits of reduced power consumption, resulting in substantial operating cost savings. Our light therapy products have been shown to help people suffering from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) to become happier, healthier and alive within a short amount of time.

Assay Testing Technology For New Sources Of Renewable Energy

This technology allows for the testing of the fuel composition of various types of alternative energy resources in a stable and consistent environment. We are able to test tar sands, oil shale and waste coal in a manner that is more consistent and stable than anyone else on the market today. Our units are the most advanced in the industry and some of our earlier Assay test stands have been in the market for more than 35 yrs. This technology has recently been added to the Vista International, Inc. family of technologies by its most recent acquisition of Electric Power Equipment, Company (EPECo) based in Denver, Colorado. EPECo is a 47 yr old manufacturer of electrical switchgears, test stands for all kinds of motors, pumps, engines, portable substations and power plants, etc. and various types specialty products in the electrical industry, including the EPECo Assayer.

Solar Electric Hybrid Generators

This product will alter the standards of all future solar energy products. This technology is NOT made from component of glass, as current panels are, and has an estimated life span of 100 years or more. This highly efficient solar technology absorbs of energy from the sun, rather than reflecting it, as do traditional products on the market today. Efficientcy level range from a low of 43% to in some cases a high of 80% or better. Also in development is a proprietary solar product with the capabilitiy to produce energy on a 24 hour per day basis by, synergistically linking various other Vista technologies . Base load power in additiona to spike power, will be generated more consistently so as to relieve our current electrical infrastructure from its over burden of energy consumption. These technological advances will come at a fraction of the cost of expensive and wasteful upgrades currently proposed in the industry.

Ultra High Efficiency Electric Motors

This proprietary and patented electric motor and controller system delivers up to five times greater performance than conventional motors. This system has characteristics that are suitable for nearly every application currently serviced by traditional AC and DC motors, the system has high starting torque, soft start, direct drive and variable speed capability. When one considers that electric motor systems consume 23% of all electricity sold in the United States and 64% of industrial electric energy, the savings produced by this system would amount to billions of dollars and millions of tons of saved carbon emissions. Immediate applications include pumps, AC compressors, conveyors and fans and result in extraordinary payback periods and would help qualify buildings for LEED designation.
